The Centre has reconstituted the 18-member Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), bringing actors Preity Zinta, Pankaj Tripathi, Suniel Shetty, Pallavi Joshi and Prosenjit Chatterjee, filmmaker Priyadarshan and Grammy-winning composer Ricky Kej onto the panel.

Shashi Shekhar Vempati will continue as CBFC chairperson, with the new board appointed for three years or until further orders.

The move comes weeks after the CBFC held its first board meeting in six years.
