Yoo Jeongyeon Leaves JYP, Not TWICE

After more than a decade with JYP Entertainment, TWICE's Jeongyeon is ready to begin a new chapter in her career. Jeongyeon joined JYP Entertainment in 2010 after passing an audition and trained for five years before making her debut with TWICE in 2015.
On August 10, she announced her departure through a handwritten letter shared on Instagram. She signed an exclusive contract with VARO Entertainment, which also represents her older sister and actress Gong Seung-yeon.

She is the first TWICE member to leave JYP Entertainment since the group's debut.
In her letter, Jeongyeon looked back on her long association with the agency and the memories she made there. “JYP has been my second home since my teenage years; a place where I've spent so much time and created so many cherished memories,” she wrote. “I am now preparing to start a new chapter in a new place,” she added.
While Jeongyeon is set to explore acting opportunities under VARO Entertainment, she reassures TWICE's fans, known as ONCE, that her bond with the group remains unchanged.
“Even though I am moving on to a new chapter to take on new challenges, TWICE, the center of my life, will remain unchanged, just as it is now,” she wrote.
