Barua composed melodies for two key songs, Star Among the Cosmic Clouds and Confetti Storm, and co-composed Confetti Star-Ion with French composer Manu Martin.

The project combines orchestral music, animation, pop songs and astrophysics, exploring supernovae and the origins of elements that form life.

Cosmic Rhapsody will premiere at the Hollywood Bowl on July 27, 2027, with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet. The NASA COSI mission is scheduled to launch from Cape Canaveral.

Barua, known for his work in films including Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Agent Vinod and Laila Majnu, said the collaboration brings together “logic and imagination” on a cosmic canvas.
