Vicky Kaushal Says Mijwan Runway With Alia Bhatt Was ‘Special’

Sharing pictures from the event on Instagram, Vicky described the experience as a special one, particularly for the cause behind the initiative. He said sharing the runway with Alia made it “even more special”, while emphasising that the real stars were the girls whose dreams were being given wings.
Vicky also thanked Manish Malhotra, actor and Mijwan Welfare Society managing trustee Shabana Azmi, and Namrata Goyal for bringing them together for the initiative.
Alia, too, celebrated 15 years of Mijwan, congratulating Shabana Azmi and Manish Malhotra for providing artisans with a platform to showcase their talent and traditional craft. She also shared a warm note for Vicky, saying it was “always fun” when he was around.
For the showcase, titled ‘Ticket to Bollywood’, Alia wore an ivory embroidered ensemble featuring a sheer dupatta, corset blouse and skirt, accessorised with traditional jewellery. Vicky opted for a deep royal blue velvet sherwani jacket with intricate white floral zardozi embroidery, paired with a white kurta and tailored trousers.
The duo’s runway appearance also comes ahead of their upcoming film Love & War, in which they will share the screen with Ranbir Kapoor under the direction of Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
The Mijwan Fundraiser Fashion Show marks 15 years of collaboration between Manish Malhotra and the Mijwan Welfare Society, which works to empower rural women and young artisans through traditional chikankari embroidery.
