After the huge success of Queen of Tears in 2024, Kim Ji-won is set to return with a new medical drama, Doctor X: Mafia in White. The series marks her first K-drama in two years.

In the series, Kim Ji-won plays Gye Su-jeong, a highly skilled surgeon known as “Doctor X.” She is confident, direct and fiercely independent.

The first teaser and trailer offer a glimpse of Su-jeong’s strong personality. She appears fearless and determined.

The Korean drama is based on the popular Japanese medical series Doctor-X: Surgeon Michiko Daimon. It follows the story of an exceptionally talented surgeon working in a hospital where medical expertise is only part of the battle.

Alongside surgeries and medical cases, the drama explores power struggles, ambition and internal politics within the hospital.

Doctor X: Mafia in White will premiere on October 9, 2026, at 9:50 p.m. KST on SBS. New episodes will air every Friday and Saturday. The series will also be available internationally on Netflix.
