KATSEYE star Lara Raj recently experienced a special full-circle moment after meeting Indian playback singer Shreya Ghoshal at a Recording Academy panel.

Lara and Shreya were among the speakers at Shaping Sounds: South Asian Music, Culture & Industry, an event that brought together artists and industry voices to discuss the growth, influence and changing landscape of South Asian music.

Sharing a photo with Shreya from the event, Lara expressed her excitement about being on the same panel as the singer she has admired for years. “I got to speak on a beautiful panel about south asians in music today with the bollywood queen @shreyaghoshal IM HONORED,” she wrote.

The meeting was even more meaningful because Lara and Shreya had crossed paths long before Lara became a member of KATSEYE. Lara first met the celebrated singer in 2012, when she was still a child. She was accompanied by her sister and parents at the time.

Lara’s parents later shared throwback pictures from that meeting alongside a recent photograph of Lara and Shreya, highlighting just how much had changed over the years.

The images offered a glimpse of Lara’s journey from meeting one of India’s most recognisable singers as a young fan to now sharing a professional platform with her as an artist herself.
