Jon Watts Set to Direct New Star Wars Trilogy

The Skywalker Saga spans nine films and follows the legacy of the Skywalker family, including Anakin, Luke and Leia.
The upcoming film will reportedly be written by Simon Kinberg, who will also produce it. Actor Daisy Ridley is expected to reprise her role as Rey, whom she portrayed in the previous Star Wars trilogy. Further details about the project remain under wraps.
Watts first drew attention with the low-budget thriller Cop Car, starring Kevin Bacon. He subsequently joined Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures to direct Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), followed by Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home. The trilogy became a global box-office success and established Watts as a prominent director of large-scale studio films.
His most recent directorial outing was the action-comedy Wolfs, starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt.
