Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 5, the latest instalment in the popular comedy franchise, is set to arrive in theatres on January 8, 2027. The filmmaker announced the release date on Saturday.

Shetty shared a motion poster on Instagram to make the announcement, writing, “Laughter, fun, joy, happiness and family... bas, nothing else. 8th Jan 2027.”

The motion poster features franchise favourites Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu and Tusshar Kapoor packed onto a three-wheeled motorcycle as they make their way along a winding mountain road, offering a glimpse of the film’s trademark comic chaos.

Golmaal 5 is set to reunite several franchise favourites. Ajay Devgn will return as Gopal, with Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu and Shreyas Talpade reprising their popular roles.

Sharman Joshi is also returning to the franchise nearly 20 years after starring in the original Golmaal: Fun Unlimited (2006).

The film will mark Akshay Kumar’s debut in the Golmaal universe. Rohit Shetty announced his casting in March 2026, although details of his character remain under wraps. Reports suggest Kumar may take on a negative role.
