BTS had a memorable night at the MTV Video Music Awards, taking home three awards and winning in every category in which they were nominated.

The group won Song of the Year for SWIM, along with Best K-Pop for the same track and Best Group. The wins add to BTS’ impressive VMA record and mark their fifth Best Group victory. They previously won the category four years in a row from 2019 to 2022.

With the Song of the Year win, BTS also made history as the first K-pop group to receive the award.

SWIM, the lead single from BTS’ Arirang, faced strong competition in the Song of the Year category. The nominees included Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter’s Bring Your Love, RAYE’s WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!, Ella Langley’s Choosin’ Texas and Golden by Huntrix.

The three victories highlight BTS’ continued presence on one of music’s biggest international stages. Their success at this year’s ceremony also reflects the growing recognition of K-pop within the global music industry.
